it's a hard knock life

If you are a loyal reader of “This is My World” then you are already aware that I am the head of Lindsy’s dating committee. Some of you are probably laughing and wondering what my qualifications are. Well…I don’t have many. I am dating someone, yes, but can’t really claim to know much about the process of getting a date or setting someone up. From what Lindsy has told me, she had a thing or two to do with my current dating life (which I was clueless about so I can’t fill you in on what occurred). Nevertheless, it’s time to return the favor.

So I propose (is it okay to use that word around a dating committee??) to make this an official committee and plan to begin recruiting others to serve on the committee. As committee chair, I have appointed Lindsy’s sister Jamie as Vice-Chair. I also have one male committee member and am looking for just a few more. Please let me know if you are interested. You must know Lindsy and have some kind of idea or opinion regarding the type of man she should date. You cannot expect her to lower her expectations but you can encourage her to open her mind.

I will also be accepting submissions for date prospects. If any non-committee member has someone they deem worthy of consideration please let me know and the committee will review and advise Lindsy as necessary.

I will keep you informed of our progress and I’m hoping to have some good stories to share. I’m no Carrie Bradshaw but perhaps this will be my own clean, appropriate-for-all-ages version of Sex and the City. Or…no sex but fabulous dates and the city. If this is successful maybe the dating committee thing will catch on. I don’t know why this approach to dating hasn’t been widely used already. Perhaps I’m about to find out…
