weekend highlights

My roommate Lindsy always does weekend update as she leads a very exciting life. So I’m stealing this from her and doing a weekend update for myself this week.

I like to keep busy but lately the week’s have come and gone and have been wearing me out completely. By the time Friday rolls around I’m ready to stay in, cook dinner and pop in a movie. That was not possible this past Friday…or Saturday…or Sunday.

FRIDAY

We headed out to Stillwater to meet up with friends and go to the very exciting Oklahoma State University homecoming walkaround. Apparently, OSU’s homecoming is the nation’s largest. How exciting for us that it takes place right here in Oklahoma. As a non-alumnus of this university I had no idea what to expect and whatever idea I had in my head was not what I encountered in Stillwater. Nevertheless, it was a fun time. We walked around in the chilly night air pushing our way through crowds of people and looked at all the displays set up by each of the Greek houses. I forgot to take pictures but here are some highlights courtesy of the web…

SATURDAY

Bright and early Saturday morning I headed downtown with Anastasia and Anne to participate in Race for the Cure. This was yet another event in which I pushed my way through crowds of people. We were shoulder-to-shoulder the whole way and couldn’t really run much less walk at a brisk pace. It was more like a leisurely stroll for the cure. I came to the conclusion that participants were there mainly for the cause than the actual act of running. I was amazed by the number of people that participated. It was a lot of fun and I was proud to be a part of it.

My favorite part was the bagpipe players along the race route. I love bagpipe music!!

My least favorite part…when a bird pooped on me. Gross! I didn’t get a picture of that. But how lucky am I that of all the thousands of people downtown the bird had to poop on me.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Dallas for the last FC Dallas home game before the playoffs. It was not that exciting of a game as our team lost. They didn’t even score! But it was a fun afternoon/evening. By the time we got back to OKC at 1:30 am I was exhausted and waking up on Sunday morning was quite a chore. Here is Anne and I at the game. I was very excited that she decided to come with us so I wasn't the only girl.

When we went to New York, a bird pooped on my friend's shirt the first day we were there. It was great. Well, for everyone but her, I guess :)

leave it to you to get pooped on!
